WHAT IS SPECIAL OLYMPICS COBEQUID?
Special Olympics is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with an intellectual disability.
WHO CAN JOIN SPECIAL OLYMPICS COBEQUID?
Special Olympics is open to every intellectually disabled person, regardless of the level or degree of that person's disability, and whether or not that person also has other physical disabilities. Cobequid welcomes individuals to join our organization from Truro, Shubenacadie, Milford, Lantz, Elmsdale and the outlying regions of Colchester County. Currently we have over 140 registered athletes enrolled in our programs and 30 volunteers and coaches.
ITS NOT JUST SPORTS!
Besides sports, at Special Olympics Cobequid we have other fun events like dances and barbecues. These help boost self-confidence and increase social skills.
